Govt, semi govt land worth trillions transferred fraudulently in Karachi


ISLAMABAD: Fraudulent transfers of government and semi-government lands worth millions, have been uncovered in Karachi.

Through collusion between government officials and the Revenue Department, a staggering 328,000 acres of land were fraudulently transferred. Based on government documents received, the caretaker government had recommended a comprehensive investigation following directives from the Supreme Court.

It has been disclosed that fake transfers of valuable land, totalling 41,000 acres, occurred in various suburbs and outskirts of Karachi. Furthermore, official documents have revealed that fraudulent transfers worth billions of rupees have been ongoing since 2012.

The Senior Member of the Sindh Board had presented all records before the Sindh Cabinet. Numerous fraudulent transfers and land frauds have come to light. Strict action has been recommended against officers and officials involved in altering revenue records. Further information is expected from the documents.

The Cabinet has suggested that the revenue department conduct a comprehensive audit of all government and semi-government land accounts within six months. Additionally, it has been revealed that hundreds of fake entries have been made in land records since 2012.
