Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan vs Oman today

Pakistan and Oman will face off today in the Asia Cup 2025. This is the first match of both the teams in Group A. The match will start sharp at 7pm at Dubai International Stadium.

Pakistan crushed Oman

Pakistan dismantled Oman for just 67-run total in 16.4 overs, sealing a dominant victory in their group-stage clash.

Oman crumbled under relentless pressure from the Pakistani bowling attack. Right from the start, wickets fell at regular intervals, with Saim Ayub and Faheem Ashraf leading the charge.

Saim Ayub, who was downed for a duck, proved his bowling prowess by picking up two crucial wickets, removing both Aamir Kaleem and Jatinder Singh early. This halted Oman’s hopes of a solid start.

Faheem Ashraf bagged 2 wickets for just 5 runs, cleaning up the tail with deadly precision.

Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem also chipped in with wickets, keeping the pressure maintain and not allowing any Omani batter to create a moment for their team.

Only Hammad Mirza showed some resistance with a fighting 27 off 23 balls. However, he found little support from the other side as wickets kept downing.

Oman’s middle and lower order collapsed amazingly, with four batters failing to even get off the mark.

Pakistan’s fielding was sharp too. A brilliant run-out by Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed Vinayak Shukla, while Mohammad Haris caught Zikria Islam spectacularly off Faheem’s bowling.

With this emphatic victory, Pakistan not only secured two important points but also boosted their net run rate.
