WEB DESK: Actor and writer Mira Sethi has publicly confirmed her divorce, opening up about a deeply personal chapter of her life that had remained private until now. The revelation has stirred conversations across social media, with many praising her honesty and resilience.

Mira, 38, is best known for her performances in popular dramas including Kuch Ankahi, Janam, Paristan, Silvatain, Chupke Chupke, Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai and Preet Na Kariyo Koi. She belongs to one of Pakistan’s most prominent media families, her parents, Najam Sethi and Jugnu Mohsin, are known journalists and television personalities, while her brother Ali Sethi is a globally recognised singer.

In November 2019, Mira married Bilal Siddiqui in California after a long-term relationship. However, she revealed in a recent conversation with journalist Sabahat Zakariya on the digital channel Feminustani that the marriage quietly ended in March 2023, more than two years ago.

Speaking candidly about that period, she described it as one of the most emotionally challenging times in her life. “A few months after Kuch Ankahi, I got divorced. While shooting the drama, I was going through an incredibly tender and intense period,” she said. “I was grateful to have work that helped ground me. I would get up and head to set. Sajal, Ahmed Saab, and Nadeem Baig were aware and showed me immense kindness and support.”

Her acknowledgment that work provided a sense of stability during personal turmoil has resonated deeply with fans, who have applauded her strength.

The Dil Banjaara and Dilfareb star’s openness has also been met with widespread support from her colleagues in the entertainment industry, many of whom have praised her courage in speaking publicly about a painful transition.
