WEB DESK: Warner Bros. Discovery has finally rolled out HBO Max in Pakistan, bringing its popular streaming platform to local audiences for the first time. The move is part of a major expansion into 15 new countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Ukraine, and Macau, as the company continues to broaden its footprint across Asia and Europe.

The long-awaited arrival means Pakistani viewers can now officially stream some of HBO’s most popular and award-winning titles. The service is available through its website and mobile applications, offering a mix of content from HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros., DC Universe, Discovery, and the Wizarding World, all in one place.

Global hits and fan favourites

Among the featured titles are global sensations such as Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, The Penguin, and The Pitt. The platform’s movie selection includes Hollywood blockbusters like Superman, A Minecraft Movie, The Lord of the Rings, and The Matrix series, alongside all-time favourites from the Harry Potter franchise.

Reality TV enthusiasts can tune into Discovery’s Deadliest Catch and Gold Rush, while children can enjoy classics such as Tom and Jerry, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, and Looney Tunes. Popular sitcoms like Friends and The Big Bang Theory are expected to be added to the catalogue by January 2026.

Fans can also look forward to new Max Originals, including IT: Welcome to Derry, which is set to premiere on October 27. The lineup will expand further in the coming months with upcoming releases such as M3GAN 2.0, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, How To Train Your Dragon, and Weapons.

HBO Max is offering two subscription plans for its users in Pakistan. The Standard Plan is priced at Rs800 per month or Rs5,600 per year and allows streaming on two devices simultaneously in Full HD, along with up to 30 titles available for offline viewing.

The Premium Plan costs Rs1,100 per month or Rs7,700 annually, offering streaming on up to four devices at once with 4K Ultra HD quality and Dolby Atmos (where supported), as well as up to 100 downloadable titles for offline viewing.

Subscribers can create up to five personalised profiles, including dedicated kid-friendly ones with parental controls. The service supports major smart TV brands, including LG and Samsung, and lets users continue streaming while travelling in countries where HBO Max operates.

With its official launch, HBO Max enters Pakistan’s growing streaming market, setting the stage for fresh competition among global entertainment giants.
