Admission is based on merit, not religion, says Dr. Sarosh during a visit of minority community delegation visit to Jamia NED.
“NED should be called by the name of Nader Shah Adalji Dinshu, the services of NED for the country and the nation are commendable,” these views were expressed by Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Sindh Anthony Naveed on his arrival at NED. According to the details, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly said that it is commendable to have students of all religions and faiths in NED. The university’s services to the nation are commendable. He further said that today’s Pakistan having people of all religions and respecting each other was actually the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that the society develops with inter-faith harmony. While addressing the reception, Sheikh Al Jamia said that at present there is one per minority student in NED, while according to the government orders, they will be reduced to 2 percent. He further said that there was open merit system in NED and the admissions were given on the basis of merit and not religion. According to the Jamia spokesperson, a delegation of 14 minority Hindu, Christian and Sikh members from across Pakistan appreciated the efforts of Sheikh-ul-Jamia.
