PSX posts minor losses, then closes on a high note

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) lost its gaining momentum on Wednesday, and continued to slide down on Thursday. During the first half of the trading day, the benchmark KSE-100 index had posted a loss of nearly 88 points.
PSX gains then loses on a fluctuating Wednesday morning
PSX witnessed a remarkable uptick on Tuesday, gaining 107 points to close at 45,910 points. On Wednesday, the index fluctuated between gains and losses before closing at a loss. Thursday opened with 45,889.57 points and by midday it was seen hovering around 45,814.99 points.
However, by day-end PSX had turned positive closing with a gain of 312 points. The psychological limit of 46,000 was restored in the index. The index closed at the level of 46,202 points.
The trading volume was comparatively slower in the morning with a little over 24 million shares trading hands by midday. However, that also picked up to 74 million shares by the day end.
